As a Junior Network Engineer, you will play a foundational role in deploying, configuring, and maintaining our enterprise network infrastructure across Cisco and Meraki platforms. Your primary focus will be managing core switching and routing components, providing essential first-line support for network troubleshooting, and assisting with basic firewall administration. This position requires an active CCNA certification and serves as a critical entry point to grow into advanced cloud networking and zero-trust security environments.
Responsibilities
- Support Network Infrastructure: Assist in deploying and maintaining core network components, including VLANs, trunking, STP, and basic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP).
- Hardware Configuration: Configure and manage edge switches, routers, and wireless access points across Cisco and Meraki platforms.
- Firewall Assistance: Support basic firewall administration tasks, such as monitoring traffic, basic NAT configurations, and URL filtering under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Troubleshooting: Respond to network performance alerts, troubleshoot fundamental connectivity issues, and assist in root cause analysis for minor outages.
- Documentation & Operations: Maintain accurate network documentation and participate in an on-call rotation as a first-line escalation point.
Required Skills
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking.
- Strong, foundational understanding of TCP/IP, the OSI model, basic routing protocols, and switching technologies.
- An active CCNA certification is required for this level.
Nice to Have
- Initial exposure to production firewalls (Palo Alto or Fortinet).
- Basic understanding of cloud networking concepts in Azure or AWS.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
