Role Summary

Our client, an identity security software company, is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its access management platform, which secures and audits access to databases, servers, Kubernetes clusters and web applications. You will shape the technical direction of the proxy data plane and control-plane services, written in Go.

Salary USD 150,000 to 185,000. This role does not offer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture of highly concurrent, distributed backend systems in Go and set standards across teams.
  • Drive design of the proxy data plane (gateways and relays) and control-plane services.
  • Shape multi-quarter roadmaps with architects, product and SRE leadership.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on secure protocols and cryptography: TLS and mTLS, credential brokering, key management.
  • Lead code and design reviews with a high bar for performance and security.
  • Resolve the hardest issues in multi-cloud production environments.
  • Mentor engineers across the team.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years as a software engineer with deep Go, distributed systems and network service expertise.
  • Experience architecting highly concurrent systems, including Go networking and cryptography libraries.
  • Strong API design with gRPC and Protobuf or REST.
  • Production experience on AWS or another major cloud.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field.
  • US work authorization without sponsorship.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building privileged access, identity or zero trust products.
  • Open-source contributions in Go networking or security.
